Upgrading your Cagi system from version 5.2 to 5.3 Very Important Points

1. In a particular cafeteria, all computers must be running the exact same version of WinCagi.
2. No computer should be accessing WinCagi data during the update process.
3. Exit from all programs, including WinCagi, before you attempt to install an update.
4. Install the update in the same “destination directory” where the existing WinCagi system is installed.
5. Once you start this update process on the first workstation, do NOT run WinCagi on any other workstation that has not been updated.

Specific Instructions

1. Make a backup of your WinCagi data.
2. On the Utility menu, Pack Files. Pack "all files".
3. Download the current 5.3 version from our web site: WinCagi53xx.exe
4. Get the password from Oscar Software.
5. Install this version from the Start | Run option on one computer.
6. Run WinCagi on that first computer and choose the current year.
(Files will be renamed and more fields will be added to some existing files.) Browse around and look at a few students.
7. If the current school year seems to have converted with no errors, then visit each previous school year, one at a time, and browse around.
8. If there are multiple workstations in your cafeteria, repeat only step 5 on each workstation.
