Deleting a Calendar Date

To Delete a date from your school calendar go to Setup Attendance, Calendar tab, click on the date you wish to delete, then click on the black arrow in the far left column, (the whole line should turn blue), then press the delete key. Adding, Deleting or Changing a course in a student's schedule

Use the F1 Help Button on the Student Schedule Screen. Changing a student schedule may also affect the attendance and grades for that student. Think through this process carefully before you act.

To ADD a COURSE to a student's schedule do the following:

1. Click the Edit Button.
2. Then left click on the first blank line under Course Title in the student schedule grid.
3. Left click the Black Arrow at the end of the Course Title and pick the new course.
4. Click the Save Button to save your changes.

To DELETE a COURSE section from a student's schedule do the following:

1. Click the Edit Button.
2. Then left click on the Course Title you wish to delete in the student schedule grid.
3. Left Click the Black Arrow in the left most column. The entire grid line should turn blue.
4. Press the Delete Key on your keyboard.
5. Click the Save Button to save your changes.

To CHANGE a COURSE to a different period in a student's schedule do the following:

For example, you are changing a student's schedule at the end of the first semester (from 1st period English first semester to 4th period English second semester). YOU MUST CHANGE THE COURSE TO THE CORRECT PERIOD; do not change the period to a different course. Because the student has already received 9 weeks and semester grades for English, it is important to change the English in the 1st period position to English 4th period to keep the student's English grades together. OSCAR will re-sort the student's schedule in Period To Print order when you save the changes.

1. Click the Edit Button.
2. Then left click on the English Course Title in the student schedule grid.
3. Left click the Black Arrow at the end of the Course Title and pick the English section offered 4th period. If the student already has a course 4th period (for example, History), the display will temporarily show two courses 4th period and no course 1st period.
4. Change the 4th period History to1st period History.
5. Click the Save Button to save your changes.

To CHANGE a COURSE to a totally different course in a student's schedule do the following:

For example, a student is dropping Band at the end of the first semester and picking up Art in the second semester. You need to indicate that the student was enrolled in Band for only the first semester and in Art for only the second semester. Use the Term column to indicate this.

1. Click the Edit Button.
2. Then left click in the Term column on the line where Band appears in the student schedule grid.
3. Left click the Black Arrow at the end of the Term and pick 1.
4. Click on the first blank line under Course Title in the student schedule grid.
5. Left click the Black Arrow at the end of the Course Title and pick the new course, Art.
6. Left click the Black Arrow at the end of the Term and pick 2.
7. Click the Save Button to save your changes.

Why are students missing from my All A's Honor Roll List?

To Recover Missing Students on my "All A's Honor Roll":

1. Get the name of a student who is not on the Honor Roll but you thought had straight A's.
2. Click on the Grades button and search for that student.
3. Find the column of grades you chose for the Honor Roll list.
4. Look carefully at every grade listed in that column. Do you see any grade that's not an "A" or "B", like maybe "S" or "P"? If not, contact us.
5. If you do see some other grade like "S" or "P", then go to the Setup menu | Grades Setup | Grades Table.
6. The Low and High values for the "S" or "P" must be the same as the Low and High values for the "A". For example, if your grading scale is 90 - 100 for "A", then the "S" and "P" grades should also show 90 - 100. Make changes if necessary.
7. Run the Honor Roll again to see if the missing students appear.
